Land Acknowledgement

We respectfully acknowledge that our hockey activities take place on the traditional territories of many Indigenous Nations across the Yukon. In particular, we recognize the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and the Ta’an Kwäch’än Council, whose lands include downtown Whitehorse where our organization is based. We honour the deep and enduring connection these Nations have to the land, water, and community.

We honour the deep histories, cultures, and stewardship of all Yukon First Nations, and we recognize the diverse Indigenous communities whose youth, families, and leaders contribute to the strength of women’s hockey across the territory.

As a women’s hockey organization, we are committed to fostering a culture of respect, inclusion, and reconciliation. We celebrate the strength, leadership, and contributions of Indigenous women and girls in sport and we strive to create empowering spaces where all players feel welcomed, supported, and inspired—on and off the ice.
